"Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth" Psalm 71:9 |
March NewsLetter Hello Ministry Partners, We are looking forward to another good month of ministry. God has blessed us with some new volunteers and I am excited as to how God has been moving within our midst! We have a special guest preacher who will be preaching at Cedar Hills and a couple is already lined up to sing at our next quarterly Gospel Sing. March 4, West Jax - Our first monthly Easter Services went very well. We had a total of 9 volunteers present today. A new face (Patsy) blessed our residents with her presence today and we really appreciate our volunteers for taking time out of their day to bless our dear residents with Christian love. To be honest folks, this is probably the most needful thing that many of our residents need, to be loved! Charles and Doris sang two music selections and really prepared our hearers to receive God’s message on “the resurrection of Jesus.” At the end of our services we had a time to pass out some very pretty carnations to the residents. You know, many of us take so much for granted. Many of these residents are wheeled in and out of various activities and never really do get to “stop and smell the flowers.” We look forward to hearing AJ Creamer preach next week! May God be with you! March 11, Cedar Hills - Today we has a guest preacher, Bro. AJ Creamer. May I say that it was truly a blessing to hear Bro. AJ preach and many residents already want to see AJ come back to preach! A little on the light side, we found out that AJ does not need a microphone as God has blessed him with a great set of lungs!!! We also had another visitor, George Creamer. We had a great time with (9) volunteers and a full house of residents. Sis Doris sang an Easter song about the cross and one of the staff members came by at the end of our services and thanked Sis Doris for singing that song. This goes to show us that we never really know who is listening to us. One of our residents “Maxine” was in the hospital so please hold her up in prayer. To our volunteers, thanks so much for your help taking down the equipment. Many times I do not get a chance to thank you as either a resident or staff begins to talk to me. I look forward to our Easter Service next week. March 18, Life Care Center - Up from the grave He arose, hallelujah! We had Sis Betty out of town this week so we were missing a few of the ladies today I thank God for our volunteers and they are solely missed when they are unable to come. I did have help today, Bro. Charles and Sis Doris came and provided us with their blessings. The residents and I really do appreciate their special music and Bro. Charles is so helpful in setting and dismantling our sound system. We were able to distribute some carnations and most importantly we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ I pray that you can say/feel the importance and blessedness of this Christian event. I have been preaching on the irrefutable proofs on the resurrection of Christ! Folks, this, like many other fundamental Christian Doctrines is under attack and we need to know how to defend our beliefs. March 25, Cedar Hills - I was glad to see some of our ladies back today. We concluded our monthly series on the importance (POWER) of the resurrected Christ. We found out that one of our residents has gone to be with Jesus. My friends, take the opportunity to witness to those around you, it’s important. As far as we know, our sister is in fact with Jesus today. WOW, what an awesome thought! We finished passing out carnations today and we are gearing up for our April 2nd Gospel Sing, with the Riches! We had some special guests today: Pat and Rachel! It was great to have them able to come this morning. We also had special music by Brother Charles and little Kimberly. What a blessed morning but think of the blessed morn of the resurrection. Well, would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a blessed Easter (though it is past by now)! He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today. He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way! I pray your way is not so narrow that there’s no room for Jesus in you pathways! Until next month, from the folks from Sounds of Joy. God be with you! March 26, visit to: People Worth Loving Fellowship - Wow, this was an awesome visit. Myself and Bro. Frank went to visit a Nursing Home Ministry headed up by Buck and Nikki Stanley and it is a great work. They have a church that is totally facilitated for Nursing Home Residents, I mean all the way down to the altar call. We witnessed a bus ministry (again, geared specifically for nursing home residents) that was bigger then that of many small churches. We saw things there that I have only envisioned and had a great time of fellowship. Bro. Buck and Sis Nikki have labored a lifetime of work and commitment into this work and God has truly blessed.
