"Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth" Psalm 71:9 |
May NewsLetter Dear Friends & Family, We started out this month at Cedar Hills with a wonderful service! David had training and I thought I would be solo again. But praise the Lord people in the church wanted to go with me!! What a blessing! May 8-Life Care Center-What a tremendous day! The ladies from the church met us at the nursing home. It was such a blessing for them to help us! We sang songs and the extra voices really blessed the people and David & I too! Bro. Watkins smiled quiet a bit. The spirit of the Lord was truly in this place! After the service I saw Joann and went back to visit with her. Her husband Ron lives in the home and is not doing to good. His eyes were closed the whole time she was there. I encouraged her in the Lord as I see her pain as tears roll down her eyes. She says Ron is saved, praise the Lord!! She also is saved. I asked her if I could pray with her and I prayed for God’s will to be done with Ron and prayed for him and also for her. After we were finished we opened our eyes to see Ron’s eyes opened wide and he was smiling! He heard our prayers when we didn't think he could hear us! It was a blessing and encouragement to Joanne. Please pray for her. I had to leave before the others for work and later on found out that Sister Betty had led a lady to the Lord! The service at Cedar Hills(13th) was great! Roy was back blessing us with his banjo! The residents really like the banjo. The ladies from the church were back to help us and encourage us and the residents, thank you Temple Baptist ladies! This is National Nursing Home Week...We presented the activity director, Patty Moore with a framed Certificate from President Bush commending the nursing homes of America. To all the mothers for mothers Day we gave small wooden gifts with Scripture on it. We had a wonderful service. Alterra-David had training on May 15th, but the ladies from the church were there to help and so was Roy! For Mothers Day we gave out olive wood cross necklaces. After the services Susan went to talk to Florence (Flo) about her salvation, Flo said she had accepted Jesus but also believed in Re-incarnation. She said the part in the bible where it says, "ye must be born again" literally means to come back and be born again after death. Susan, Roy and I explained to her that meant a spiritual birth by accepting Jesus Christ and changing your life. She still did not waver in believing in re incarnation. Please pray for Flo as we challenged her to read the bible about that issue. Cedar Hills-The service today was tremendous!! The Spirit of God was truly in that place. We had the service upstairs where there is more room. There were 36 residents present and a few of the staff. Roy picked his banjo and the ladies from the church helped me sing and passed out tracts, etc. At the end of the service Mrs. Jennings requested a resident to play the piano and we all sang How great thou art and the holy spirit’s presence was so great! It is a blessing and encouragement to David and I for the ladies of the church to come with us and also Roy playing his banjo. The residents really enjoy that banjo! And they liked to see other new faces come with us. God Bless you all for your using your talents for the Lord. Your smile and words of encouragement really bless the residents. We have got our own web page now and the address is: www.soundsofjoy.net Be sure to check us out! We had another great service at Cedar Hills on the 27th. We missed Roy playing his banjo. Roy will be moving in a few months and we are going to miss him. We look forward to the time he has to go with us to the nursing homes to play. Continue to pray for: Ministry, lost souls, the people that go with us to the nursing homes, and nursing home residents.
