"Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth"
Psalm 71:9

June NewsLetter

Dear Friends and Family,

We are doing good, we pray that all is well with you also. We have had a lot of rain and storms here this past week. Praise the Lord we needed the rain! The ministry is doing good. We continue to encourage and lift up the residents in the homes. We continue to preach the message of salvation.

We have started the "Adopt a Resident" program. We have two people who have adopted a resident or residents. Some have adopted more than one, praise the Lord! Bro. Clyde & Sis. Marie have adopted Gloria. Gloria was so excited when Clyde & Marie went to see her and tell her that they adopted her!

And Teresa has two adoptee's, Harriet & Mr. Ingram. They tell us when we have services how glad they are to get someone to visit them. On our monthly visitation day, David & I went to visit Ralph and Mr. Ingram and Mrs. Jennings. Ralph was so glad to see us, although he is still bedridden. Mr. Ingram too was glad to see us. He is doing good. Mr. Ingram collects pictures of twins. Either in his family or others he has met over the years. If you or anyone you know would like to Adopt a resident, please let us know. You can send letters, gifts, they need prayer and a personal visit would be great!

June 4 - Cedar Hills - David preached out of Psalms and it was a good message. There was a full house today, and we had a good singing service, a few jokes, and sang Happy Birthday to one lady who had a birthday.

June 7 - West Jax - We had a great service today! Sister Betty sang a special, "Were you there when they Crucified my Lord?", that was a beautiful song! Ron came today and brought a short message about baptism and encouraged the residents. Gloria, a lady we met really gets into the service with lifting of hands and thanking the Lord. Also Will Park is another active resident who loves the Lord. There are active residents in this nursing home and are very glad to see us when we come. Myrtle is another sweet lady I spoke to after service, she is 93 I believe. I introduced Sis Gracie to Myrtle and they talked about gardens and Ms. Gracie told Myrtle about the 400 day lily flowers she has. We had two staff members of West Jax come to us and ask for prayer! David and Ron went to check on Horace (he recently had his leg amputated) who has no family and Ralph (who is in the hospital, without family), there are so many spending their darkest hours alone.

June 11 - Cedar Hills - The service was good today. Harriet informed us that Mr. Ingram and a new resident,

Willie, would like to do a special. What a blessing it was!!! Mr. Ingram is a great piano player and Willie is a great singer! All the staff stopped to hear them play and sing, what a blessing!

June 14 - Life Care Center - Today was a new beginning for Ron Legg. David ask Ron to give the devotion.

He did a good job. He talked about Jonah and running from our problems. Two teen volunteers to the nursing home were also in the service. I pray they received a blessing also.

June 16 - Life Care Center - SOJ 1st Gospel Concert- We were blessed with the talents and spiritual songs of Mr. Gary Hudson. Gary is an accomplished songwriter, guitarist and has his own musical studio. I have known Gary for many years and his songs are (and always have been) a tremendous blessing to me. I witnessed the power of God as Gary sang to a packed house at Life Care Center. I witnessed many of the residents, who are usually very unresponsive, wiping tears from their precious eyes. We thank Brother Gary and pray to find a few other musician/singers to give gospel concerts for our ministry. We are praying that we could do a quarterly gospel concert (along with our quarterly gospel sing) to our ministry facilities. We were also blessed with a couple from Georgia, Charles Rhoden and David's co-worker, Heidi Kriegh. Thanks to all., To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

June 18 - Cedar Hills - We had a great service today. Willie Gray sung a couple of songs for us again and it was a true blessing. It was great to have our volunteers, Ms. Betty, Joan, Teresa & her 3 children. The residents love to see the children! David preached a good message and we sang some more. We learned that Harriet was in the hospital all week and we missed her presence there.

June 21 - West Jax - We had good singing today and David brought a devotion on fathers. At the end of the service we passed out Father's Day gifts. There were only two men in the service. The gift was a wall plaque of a picture of a fish. When I gave the gift to the one man, he was very excited and laughed and smiled.

The other man was also exited to. Towards the end of the service Ms. Betty sang a special and one man was singing with her so she took the microphone and put it up to his mouth. It was a wonderful blessing to hear him sing!

June 23 - Bro. Clyde & Sis Marie went to celebrate Gloria's birthday with her at Cedar Hills. Gloria was so excited! They had cake and ice cream and gifts. Bro. Clyde said that was the best birthday party that he had ever been too. You too can receive such a blessing by adopting a nursing home resident, there are plenty to adopt out.

June 25 - Cedar Hills - It was good to see Harriet back from the hospital. The services went great and the Father's were recognized and challenged by a message from the book of Psalms. Sis Betty was on vacation and she was missed!

June 28 - Life Care Center - God is good. Amen! Pat has started a new job so it was myself (Bro. Dave) and Teresa today. The services went well and as with the other facilities we preached a Father's Day devotional theme. Bro. Everett was there and he was a blessing. I had good feed-back from the gospel concert (Gary Hudson) and we are working at getting Gary to come play at one of our other facilities. Pray for our ministry with Pat now working (full time) and I am working my regular job (and a side job) we are really crunched for time. One thing we can rest assured on is: GOD IS ABLE!! Teresa (as with the other lady volunteers) you are a tremendous blessing to our ministry. Men, come join us for a service or two, I guarantee YOU WILL be blessed!!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL; AND CONSIDER JOINING US AT ONE OF OUR FACILITIES FOR A FLAG WAVING SERVICE (it's going to be a lot of fun)

In Christ,

Love in Christ,

David, Pat & Rachel
