"Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth"
Psalm 71:9

JANUARY NewsLetter

Dear Prayer Partners,

Happy New Year to all of you!!! I pray that this year will be better than ever for our ministry, and also our personal life....The past year has been really rough, please pray for our family. The devil is forever seeking whom he may devour. And he will use anything and anybody.

Jan. 6-Cedar Hills-The service was good today. There were more people than usual. We saw faces that we had seen during Christmas when we handed out the gift bags. Ralph was happy. I went over to talk to Ralph and he was telling me about the Florida Gator football team; how Spurrier wanted to come back to the Gators. I just let him talk and I listened. He enjoyed talking to me. I also spoke to Betty Jean. I asked her about her Christmas bag and she said she got some cosmetics in her bag and a blanket to which she stated she loved and snuggled up with. I told her I was really glad she enjoyed the gifts. She is a sweet lady. We are attempting to regenerate our visitation program and I am trying to go once a week (this helps us to get to know the residents better and most importantly, to give out the plan of salvation).

Jan. 8-Life Care Center- We had a good attendance today, better than normal, praise the Lord! The service was different today and its great to change up the services. David brought his cards with scripture verses on them and each one of us picked a card and read it and commented on it. There were eight of us there. In between the reading of the scripture we sang. Mr. Watkins is doing good and still talks about Papua New Guinea. We had one dear lady who sang a Spiritual, unto the Lord. How pleased the Master must have been with her great effort; how encouraging!

Jan. 13-Cedar Hills- David was in training today. I asked Bro. Noble from the church to give the devotion. The devotion was good. We sang some songs and then Betty who visits with the residents sang a special, she sang Amazing Grace. The residents really enjoyed it. I read a poem on blessings and then we sang more songs. After services we talked with a few of the residents.

Jan. 14- I started the one-on-one visitation today. Teresa & I went to Alterra and was going to visit Charles Bryan but he was playing bingo. We walked throughout the facility looking to visit. We stopped by an open door and met Betty Groves. She was glad we had come to visit. We spoke a few minutes and as we talked she told me that she was saved and her children come to get her for church. I was really glad to hear her profession of faith and also that she has relatives that visit her. So many do not have family or friends that visit.

Jan 15-Alterra- Today was our regular services and Shasta, Mark, Victoria and I held the services. Shasta brought the short devotion today and it was very good. Victoria is a baby and the residents love to see her come, it seems to just brighten up their day to see the youth come in.

Jan. 27-Cedar Hills- The services today started with special music by Melissa Wimberly.. She sang beautifully and the residents enjoyed it very much! Then we sang out of our song book and right before the devotion Melissa sang again. It was a real nice service and the Spirit of the Lord was surely in this place! Ralph is in the hospital so please pray for him.

Prayer Request: The ministry, Residents, Our family and a special blessing and prayer for all those who support us with their finances, time and prayer.

In Christ,

Pat, David & Rachel
