"Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth" Psalm 71:9 |
February NewsLetter Dear Friends & Family, Another month has come and gone. Time is flying by so fast! God has blessed our ministry in every way; There are more volunteers, we have people praying for the ministry, and also providing the finances. Cedar Hills-Feb. 3- Ralph is in the hospital. David and I went on Sunday to visit him. He is doing good. Keep him in your prayers. Harriet was not feeling well and did not attend the services. There were a few new faces in the service today. I spoke to Ed who likes to play the guitar and seemed to enjoy the services. Sis Betty and Betty, a volunteer, sang a couple of specials that really blessed us all! Alterra-Feb. 5- There were only 5 at the service today. This facility needs your prayers. For the residents to become interested in coming to the services. The services were short today. All went fairly well under the circumstances. Cedar Hills-Feb. 10- Today was training day for David. Everyone showed up to help me and we had a great service. Keep praying for Ralph, he is still in the hospital. We sure do miss him when he is not in the service. Alterra-Feb 19- David was in training today so it was me and Teresa. We had a nice short service today. We are few in number. I read a short devotion and gave the gospel out. Here at this facility no body sings but us even though we have passed out the songbooks. They are a hard bunch here but we will love them . They like for us to talk to them after the service. I found out Mrs. Acker is from Pennsylvania. Ever since that day I encouraged her she has been at all of our services and her countenance is much better. Pray for this facility. Cedar Hills-Feb 24- David had a doctors appt. today so all of us ladies went to the nursing home and we had a great service. I'm thankful we can minister to the residents. The devil has tried to cause havoc in our ministry/family; but, our Father is greater! The residents look forward to us coming every week at this facility. Mrs. Hilton said she was thrilled that we had come. Charlotte was asleep when we arrived and the other residents told her to wake up for the church service. Charlotte is a spunky one, she will tell it like it is. Ralph was not at the service but Harriet said he was back from the hospital. Life Care Center- We haven’t been to this facility in a month due to circumstances beyond our control. I went to get Mr. Watkins from his room to let him know we had come. He said he was to tired so I sat down to talk with him a few minutes. He said that he has been down because he was giving 4 bible studies and he had to cut back to one because of his health and strength. He didn’t make it to the service. He is such a great man of God. He will be 101 yrs old this August. He says he is going back up to Tennessee again this year for the horse infantry reunion (Not the correct name) Rev. Watkins does not look his age, rather, he looks in mid 70's-80. God has surely blessed him. He told me today, back in the 40's that the Lord healed him of TB, appendicitis and something else I can't remember. I brought Mr. Watkins a missionary Report from missionaries in Papua New Guinea and he was really excited to hear it. Thank you Sharon for getting the tape for me! Until next month, God bless you all and thank you for everything you do for this ministry!!
