I) Read Introduction

- Peoples inclinations are to place faith in sight objects (10 Comm Tabs)
- Example of Goliath (I Sam 17)

- Helmet of Brass - Fitted upon his head
- Coat of Mail - Plates of brass laid upon one another

- 5000 shekels of brass - Approx. weight of 156 LBS.
- Greaves of Brass - Covered the thighs, legs down to the heals (30LBS)
- Example of David (I Sam 17:45)... Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield; but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defiled.
- To the physical eye, Goliath was the object of their faith.

- To the spiritual eye David placed his faith in the right source.
- Violin was shattered - Only when the physical hindrance of the violin (self) was removed could they see the real source of the beautiful musician (God).
III) Conclusion
- David placed his faith (the instrument) in God (the source) and was able to eliminate Israel's physically seen obstacle (Goliath)
- We to can place our faith (instrument) perhaps for salvation or to remove a hindrance, provided we rightly apply it into the source of our faith (God).
- Eph 2:8- For by grace are ye saved through faith (the instrument); and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God (the source)
- Romans 10:13- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
