Don't Worry
I) INTRODUCTION:
Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear; rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them. He is your Keeper. He has kept you hitherto. Hold fast to his dear hand, and he will lead you safely through all things; and, when you cannot stand, he will bear you in his arms. Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. Our Father will either shield you from suffering, or he will give you strength to bear it.
I) A GOD OF PROVISION
- Provision - The act of providing or making previous preparation.
- Eph 2:4-6: But God who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith he loved us. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved). And hath raised us up together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- God is rich in mercy
- God has great love, wherewith he loved us
- God made us alive, with Christ
- God hath (present tense) us up/in heavenly places (In Christ)
II) A GOD OF PROVIDENCE
- Providence - The act of providing or preparing for future use
- Matt 6:31-33: Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, wherwith shall we be clothed? (For all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
- Take no thought - Extreme thought/worry about excessively
- God (our heavenly Father) knows our needs
- Seek (to take thought for) God's kingdom and righteousness.
- All things are added unto you (provisions are made)
- Israel's desert experience's - God made provisions.
III) A GOD OF PROTECTION
- Protect - To cover or shield from danger or injury; to defend; to guard.
IV) A GOD OF PERFECTION
- Perfection - The state of being perfect or complete; nothing is wanting
- Colo 1:28: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
- Perfection (Completion) can only be found in Jesus Christ
- Jesus has met God's demand for perfect holiness (fulfilling the law)
- Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the grave, according to the Scriptures.
- Jesus sits on God's right hand making intercession for us.
CONCLUSION:
We find that God has made provision, providence, protection and perfection through the person of Jesus Christ.
- Do you know the one who loved and died for you
- Without a personal relationship with the Savior you have no surety.
- The one who died for us and rose again upholds us today and shall do so in all our tomorrow's.
- Leave tomorrow's trouble to tomorrow's strength; tomorrow's work to tomorrow's time; tomorrow's trial to tomorrow's grace and to tomorrow's God.
